Addictions – These are characterised by an uncontrollable urge to do things that are harmful to ourselves and others. Examples are theft, gambling, alcohol and drug addiction.

Eating disorders – These disorders are characterised by extreme attitudes, emotions and behaviour concerning food and weight. Examples are bulimia nervosa, eating fits and anorexia nervosa.
